We goin' to the Village!

So Last January, my school held an activity called "Bakti Desa" for the second-year students only. This activity probably was intended to make us, the downtown kids, to understand and feel the atmosphere and the life in the village for three days straight.

And the location is in~~ Cibeureum Village!
Okay so the first day, we made friends with the kids there. We are about five years apart and they were so cute. We, along with the kids there, were able to go to a tea field. We had fun running and kind of chasing each other with laughs here and there without any clear purpose in the tea field. The field wasn't that far from our house, about ten minutes walk.
In the evening, we watched our 'mom' play volleyball with other moms. Her team didn't win though, but it's not like it was a match or something.

On our second day, we were invited by our 'father' to visit his own field and help him so some jobs there! That day was probably the day we took most pictures we have now, because on our way to the field, we walked along the hill and many villager's field, and holy moly, the view was satisfyingly beautiful and fresh! Everything is so greeny green, it felt fresh and great, my eyes had been blessed~

Because really, the fact says that the color green can relax your eyes, isn't that amazing?!

Near our father's field, some farmers were harvesting leeks and we were willing to help them, although our help didn't mean much, we wanted to try doing it. That was the first time I've harvested leeks and it was so much fun! The farmers were all very kind even though we were actually closer to disturbing and bothering them rather than really helping them. So we didn't stay for long, we were actually aware of what we were really doing in the field lol.

We then went to KM 0 Citarum and man, it wasn't what I'd been expecting. It was pretty much so-so, andfrankly speakingㅡit's not more than just a normal lake and was a bit dirty. But anyway, our legs were almost at their limit (because we still needed to get back to our house).
We went back to our houseㅡwith our numb legs.
It was eventually our last day there that the kids were a crying messㅡand us too. We hugged a lot, we cried, and my clothes were wet because of theirㅡand my ownㅡtears. Girls look the ugliest when they cry, and we were no exception, but we were all girls, so it's fine. I knew we will miss each other, even now, while I'm writing this, I suddenly have this urge to meet them again right now.

It's amazing how we were just meeting and knowing each other for less than 72 hours, but we can be this affectionate (lol) and feel the strong connection between us as if we've been knowing each other for years. It makes me believe 'yes, everyone here is very welcoming.'

Hope to see you again, girls.

Nadilla's Recommendation Letter

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure and honor to recommend Nadilla Zulfa Huwaida for the College Scholars Program at the Padjadjaran University. I have known Nadilla for nearly three years now as her homeroom and Biology teacher during her time at Senior High School 3 Bandung.
Nadilla has been one of my outstanding students since the first year of high school and I have seen lots of her potential shining. After reading through the criteria of the program, I strongly believe that you would struggle to find a student more deserving than Nadilla.
She is a very bright and active student, and her focus has barely distracted in most of our classes. It makes her undoubtedly smart and diligent and she always shows curiosity for every new things she just learned so no wonder she always gets ahead from other students.
She is a really good speaker as her presentations are always terrific. She is a great observer and able to analyze something excellently.

But as a person, of course Nadilla has the downsides too. For example, she sometimes get sleepy, though, I think it's because she often stays late to do school tasks as she is always busy after school. She sometimes delay tasks that she isn't enjoy doing, but I know she would eventually do that in no time. Sometimes she is not punctual, but she always come with more preparation than the others. She likes to joke around and funny, that sometimes she isn't really serious, but I don't think it happens often. She is the type that knows the line between "serious time" or "joking time"

In conclusion, her flaws are nowhere from what she's competent at. They're not worth being considered very deeply to not accept her dreams. She makes me believe that there's no limit of what she can achieve in the future. That's all for me, I hope I can convince you. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Fawwazti

My Dreams for The Future Me

Hello. I’m Fawwazti and usually called as Pew. I’m now 16 years old and currently on my second year in SMA 3 Bandung. I was born in Bekasi, on Wednesday, 15 January 2003, exactly at 3.42 AM.

Based on a MBTE test I took online for free, they said I’m an adventurer with INFP-T personality. And I kind of agree that I’m probably an adventurer, because I like to try new cool things so if anyone asks my skill or passion, I honestly don’t know what I’m really, really good at because rather than learning a certain thing deeply and seriously, I choose to learn many, many things but not that thoroughly. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.

For school, I enjoy physical education (PE), mathematics, English, Indonesian, biology, and art as my hobbies are reading, drawing, singing even though my voice is rubbish.

I love working out (seriously!), travelling (thanks to my mom for this), and proofreading (I just like to point out people's mistake and correcting it).

Alright so you probably still can’t guess some of my plus and my minus, my strength and my lack, my perfection and my flaw, from those pointless paragraphs about me. So let me just point out my power and my weakness

So here’s the awful me:
  •   I’m picky
  •  Socializing skill is a no-no
  •   Perfectionist and insecure
  •   Often procrastinating
  •  Messy and disorganized

Aaand the awesome things about me:
  • Even though I’m picky, I’m passionate with things I pick
  • A fast learner
  • Reflective and thoughtful
  • Careful, calm, and collected (I’m not easily to get panicked)
  • Serious, but can be funny at times

As I love art like painting and singing, but I still want to be a doctor specializes in women’s reproduction system, so my clear dream is to become an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) that will write at least a book. If possible, I actually also want to be a book editor and maybe a comic artist! (I LOVE comics!) you know, I can make a fun educational comic about our body and biology stuffs…

My plan for the future:
  •         Get accepted for medical school in either UGM, UI, or UNPAD.
  •           Apply for a student exchange scholarship and if I’m lucky enough, I want to go to Australia or probably Japan.
  •           Start writing my book seriously
  •           Get my bachelor’s degree
  •           Finish my book
  •           Start to work in a hospital
  •           Apply for a master’s degree overseas
  •           Get my master’s degree
  •           Experience being a doctor for hajj
  •           Make my own clinic or maybe hospital
  •           Get married (yes.)
  •           Get to do Hajj as soon as possible with the person I ended up with (lol), before we’re too old and weak.

Alright, that's it! Thanks for reading and see you when I see you!!
